US Pizza Company is going down hill…
Mar 27th, 2008 by JuggoPop
My Mother is moving. She bought a new home and is in the process of living out of a uhaul for the most part.
So after work last night I decided to splurge on my diet and eat pizza with the family before a few hours of moving heavy furniture.
We decided to go to US Pizza Company in North Little Rock, Arkansas and get down to some good eat’n. I normally order a large supreme, hold the hamburger, add corned beef. Yes, corned beef. Its what makes a pizza good… damn it.
However when I sit down I realize that they changed their menu. They got rid of all their special pizzas. All the ones with the cool names that come with special stuff… gone. Now you can choose from one topping or supreme, then add what you want at an upcharge per topping. And that’s it.
Plus the 13″ pizza looked more like a 10″. (Which pisses a fat boy off)
So instead of being reamed a new one by “building my own” I went for their new plan supreme (sans corned beef). I was ok. Average. I might as well had went to any shitty pizza company on any street corner. And next time I probably will.
Let me share with you the message I just left on their website.
I am very disappointed with the recent changes to your restaurant. The removal of the corned beef from the menu is a sad site to see. And maybe it’s just me, but the pizza seems smaller now as well. I always came to your restaurant to get a supreme pizza with corned beef… but now that’s it’s gone, I don’t know that I will be returning. I can get average pizza most anywhere, and last night, that’s what I felt I got. I’m sorry to see this day come… and sorry to have to stop recommending such a great pizza, now that it’s gone.
I think that says it pretty straight forward.
Another thing I thought about is Rubens. What kind of pizza place that sales pizza, salads and sandwiches gets rid of selling rubens? Our waitress didn’t get it either. And from her tone I don’t think I’m the first to ask about it.
(In case you don’t know, I’m a ruben freak… I try them everywhere I go… that is except US Pizza Company)

I actually got a response:
Thank you for your recent email regarding the removal of the Reuben sandwich from our menu.
Because of the many emails regarding this obviously popular sandwich, we are bring it back starting next week. Our pizzas are the same size as they have always been, but we did have to increase the price because of our changing economic conditions. We appreaciate your comment and welcome you to visit your favorite restaurant next week to pick up that sandwich. Thank you for you busines and we hope that you will once again consider U.S. Pizza Company for fantastic Salads, Pizzas and Sandwiches.
Sincerely,
Anthony Butler
Director of Operations
U.S. Pizza Company
Well thank you Mr. Butler. However, it was not the Ruben that I was as conserned with … after all the company is not US Ruben Company… it’s US Pizza Company & I hope that the corned beef will still be available on pizza, even at an added charge.
So there you go. I have to give them credit for actually responding in a quick and proper manner. I guess I need to add them to the thumbs up category now too.
I think I’ll call them next week and see if the pizza can still be made or not. I hate to waste a trip up there to get another average pizza.
Oh, and their website says they still have the “gourmet pizzas”… maybe I missed them after the shock of “no corned beef” was thrown upon me… Maybe they just need to update their website. I don’t know. And at this point I couldn’t really care less.
